[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [2.2s] Moot, uh, Glim, you're there now, too. Sully! [5.8s] Hey, Dainry, what's up? [8.9s] I was a bit of an explosion. [10.2s] Oh, was it Jam? [12.3s] No. [13.0s] Also, I don't think explosions are referred to as a bit of an explosion, usually. [18.1s] Uh, hey, I found something over here. [20.9s] I mean, this ash is really pink. It's pretty strange. [25.0s] And it goes into trying to find a source and trying to access it and use it in his spells. [32.2s] And it gets to the last page, which is basically just like this, like, hard sketched image. [41.1s] It's hard to describe even as you look at it, but it's like nothing you've ever seen before. [46.6s] Does this look familiar to you at all, Terry? [48.6s] Oh, that looks kind of scary, doesn't it? [50.4s] Yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe it's something that you've seen before. [53.9s] Anyways, we can probably go check the, uh, I mean, we can go check that list. [57.5s] We don't need to check that list. I seem like I would know who's on that list. [61.0s] Do you know where they live or hang out? [63.5s] And what's their name? [65.4s] Yeah. [66.1s] Oh, oh, oh, name's Boots. [69.8s] Small round object flies out of the window towards you. [74.8s] Oh, I want to catch it. [83.9s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. I'm your dungeon master, Russ More. He, [101.3s] Him, also with me today is Tom Laird. [104.8s] Yeah, that's me, He, Him, and I'm playing Moot, who also goes by He, [108.6s] Him, a wild magic half-orc sorcerer. [111.9s] And Amy More. [113.2s] Yeah, she, her, and I am playing Sullivan Sleight, a lightfoot halfling rogue. He, [119.6s] Him. [120.2s] And Carla Maxted. [121.9s] She, her, playing Glim, a dragonborn pAlydin. Also, she, her. [127.1s] Happy to be here with everybody tonight. Having such a good time. [132.6s] We laughed so hard in the last downtime that I would like to just say, [137.0s] down times are fun. [138.2s] Down times are fun. [139.4s] It's an extension of the fun, and patrons $5 plus get access to them, [143.9s] and they come out every Saturday after we release an episode. And this last one, [149.8s] let me just put out there, Shmegma. [153.4s] Oh my God. [154.2s] People have heard that word. They know what it is. Some people know. [158.7s] Some people know. [159.1s] None of us did. [161.0s] If you don't know what the down times are, they happen immediately after we record an [167.4s] episode. We do like a two to five to 10 minute debrief about the things that happen in it, [173.2s] and maybe test drives. [176.6s] And maybe some random team boy, gross words. [180.6s] Yep. All of that and more over at Patreon.com slash dumb dragoncast, [185.1s] where when you are a patron, you also get an episode dedicated to you, [188.0s] like today's patron, Adam from Snyder's Return. [192.6s] Thanks, Adam. [193.2s] Thank you, Adam. [194.6s] Thank you, Adam. Really enjoy Snyder's Return. [197.3s] Was a guest over there. You should go check him out. [199.8s] He interviews tabletop RPG creators and streamers and podcasters and all sorts of people in the [205.4s] industry. It's very cool. You should go check him out. [208.6s] Thank you. Patreon.com slash dumb dragoncast. [213.2s] Come join us. We'd love it. [215.9s] We would love it. [217.0s] No, fuck it. Let's play. [218.2s] I would like to. [226.3s] I want to catch it and throw it back. [229.1s] All right, Monk. Let's see if you can do that. [233.1s] Stop stealing Elia's thing. She hasn't got to do it yet. [236.6s] I know. [237.6s] OK, I did make a note that there will be projectiles fired at you in the next session. [242.8s] I mean, I'm good with decks, so I figure something out of midair maybe. [251.4s] Yeah, sure. OK, great. Do it. [254.2s] Yeah, I want to catch it. [255.8s] I'm going to catch it. [256.8s] Catch it. [257.4s] Oh, fuck me. I'm going to use. [260.2s] Hold on. Fuck. Jesus. [263.1s] It's going great. Yeah. [266.0s] That's what Amy sounds like when she rolls well. [268.1s] Everything is fine. I have halfling luck or something. [271.5s] What's that's a thing. You roll a one. [274.0s] No, that's when it counts. [274.7s] That's only when it counts. [276.2s] Yeah. Oh. [279.4s] What'd you roll? A two. [282.6s] So a total of seven. Great. [285.4s] So that's an auto fail on your dexterity saving throw. [288.2s] Everybody else, roll a dexterity saving throw as this explosion goes off. [292.8s] Please be confetti. Please be confetti. [296.1s] I also rolled a two, which gives me a two. [300.6s] Oh, I'm not very dexterous. I'm quite large. [304.0s] Hey, guys, without a word of a fucking lie, I also rolled a two. [309.8s] What's happening? [311.0s] How's Terry? [311.9s] Oh, Terry. Let's see what Terry rolled. [314.6s] I almost called him Jerry. [317.6s] Terry rolled an 18. [319.2s] Yeah, I did. [319.7s] Oh, I mean, he's OK. He's in full plate. [322.6s] So that's disadvantage. Still a 12. [325.6s] So still way better than all of you. [328.2s] Hey, listen. [329.2s] Our six combined. [330.8s] Yeah. Hey, hey, hey. [332.3s] I had a seven, technically, excited two with five. [336.0s] So how I see this is you see movement up in the upper balcony, curtains moving, [343.2s] projectile, fizzy flames coming out of it. [347.8s] Sully steps forward. [350.0s] I got this, guys. [351.8s] Reaches his hand high in the sky towards this as it soars past him. [359.7s] Behind him and explodes projecting him forward and everybody else blowing you back. [367.0s] You're all going to be prone. [369.7s] Everybody's going to take four bludgeoning damage. [374.6s] OK, as well as. [376.2s] Oh, so this wasn't glitter. [379.9s] I'll describe it to you as well as three piercing damage [385.1s] as this projectile explodes with a giant plume of rainbow confetti. [392.2s] But mixed within this confetti is tiny shards of glass. [396.6s] What kind of fucking psycho lives it? [398.6s] What the fuck is wrong with you, man? [403.2s] And the putz putz this guy in the face. [405.7s] When you look up as the kind of the dust settles and you're [409.8s] assessing each of your wounds and look up, he's disappeared from the upstairs window. [414.2s] Sully's pulling glass out of his face, just pissed. [416.4s] It's so much worse with it. [417.8s] Why would you make it so beautiful? [419.9s] Glitter was bad enough. [422.6s] Isn't he on probation? [424.4s] Is this not some sort of violation of probation? [427.0s] This is a definite violation of probation. [428.4s] He's going to need a citation. [430.8s] Good thing I brought my book of citations. [434.9s] This is definitely a 463. [436.9s] Make a notation in your citation. [439.6s] This guy's about to find his expiration date. [443.0s] Maybe we'll go for some libations. [445.0s] Oh, after we solve this mystery. [447.0s] Yeah, that'll make everything feel better. [448.9s] What was I doing? [450.9s] Well, I don't know. [451.8s] Citation, right? [452.6s] Apprehend him. [453.0s] Okay, I'm going to write him a ticket and then we're going to go in and get him. [457.4s] Well, you said write a citation. [458.5s] Just go in and get him and then you can write him the ticket. [461.9s] I want to sneak around back because that seems like something sneaky. [467.0s] That's a rogue, isn't it? [470.2s] Guys, I'm going to go around the back. [472.0s] I'm going to make sure he doesn't exit through any sort of back door situation. [476.8s] Oh, yeah. [477.9s] Good, good idea. [478.8s] Okay, we'll go up to the front door. [480.8s] Watch out. [481.3s] I mean, he really, really likes explosions. [484.0s] Yeah, I can tell. [485.3s] Yeah, yeah. [486.4s] You've made that abundantly clear. [487.8s] Okay, yeah, I want to. [490.1s] Sully goes around. [491.9s] Roll investigation as you are because I presume you're looking for things that [496.7s] might make explosions in your face. [499.2s] 17. [500.5s] 17? [501.0s] Yeah. [501.4s] Great. [502.3s] Moot and Glim and Terry. [504.8s] Well, Terry's going up to the front door. [506.0s] Moot and Glim, where are you going? [507.6s] I think that I will also head towards the front. [511.9s] I mean, you said it's a rundown shack. [514.6s] I'm assuming there isn't wings that we need to explore various grounds. [521.8s] But I'm also going to investigate as I approach because the bombs. [526.9s] Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. [528.5s] This place is the bomb, you guys. [530.2s] Everybody who wants to may roll investigation. [533.4s] 18. [533.8s] Well, that's better. [535.4s] 19 for me. [536.2s] Oh, yeah, investigating so good. [538.6s] So Sully disappears kind of around the side and you no longer see him. [544.1s] Not that he's disappeared, but just that he's gone out of sight. [546.7s] Object permanence. [547.4s] Don't just want to make sure there's no portals beside. [551.9s] He is still there. [553.0s] Sully, where did he go? [556.6s] Sully has been raptured. [558.7s] So it's over, guys. [560.0s] It's over. [560.6s] We call these characters the babies, so I just want to make sure. [563.4s] Moot and Glim, you're following behind Terry. [565.9s] Terry is confidently stepping up the stairs and both of you see a thin wire [570.6s] that he's about to step on as he steps his foot towards the top. [577.8s] Yeah, what's up? [581.0s] Like a trip wire. [582.3s] Oh, he kind of takes a step back and stumbles down the couple steps. [585.9s] Oh, yeah. [586.6s] No, I totally saw it. [587.8s] It was just going to make sure that everybody else was seeing whose side you're on. [595.3s] I know you're on our side. [596.6s] It's OK. [597.1s] I was I didn't see it. [598.2s] I was just trying to be cool. [600.0s] I was looking at the notes that I wrote down earlier. [602.4s] OK, but like, you know, this guy loves his explosions, [606.1s] so we got to be a little more. [607.4s] What about the explosion of the front door? [609.2s] It sounds like this guy does. [610.2s] I think he'll put an explosion anywhere. [612.2s] All right, OK. [614.1s] I wouldn't use the toilet here either, is all I'm saying. [616.6s] I should have gone at Murlock's before we left. [619.3s] I should have gone at Murlock's. [621.0s] Yeah. [621.5s] All right. [621.9s] This is Russ's game. [622.6s] He's not going to let you go. [623.6s] These are life decisions that we all make. [628.6s] OK, the three of you go just take a look at where the trip wire is attached to, [636.6s] and we cut to the back where we see Sully. [639.7s] Coming around the side, you haven't found anything [644.1s] moving around the side of the building. [646.1s] You come to the back and it is just a door with a single glass panel in it. [654.6s] Curtains drawn at the back door. [657.1s] Three steps up. [658.5s] You don't see anything walking up to the steps. [662.2s] There's no trip wires. [663.4s] There's no pressure plates. [665.0s] No, nothing like that. [666.2s] I'm going to press my back to the door, like not to the door, but sorry. [673.5s] I'm going to press my back to the back of the house [677.5s] so that I am just outside of view. [680.2s] If someone were to look out the door, they wouldn't see me. [683.3s] OK. [683.8s] And I'm not on the stairs. [685.2s] I'm like down next to the house so that I can get the jump on him if he decides to leave. [692.5s] That's what I want to do. [693.9s] And can I like ready in action for when he comes out? [697.4s] Is that a thing? [698.0s] Popcorn. [700.3s] I don't know if that's how that works, [702.0s] but I yelled it. [703.0s] So it's what I want to do. [704.2s] I mean, sure. [704.6s] Why not? [705.0s] Yeah, sure. [705.5s] Yeah, OK. [706.4s] I've got time to ready in action. [707.8s] I'm over here just like. [709.4s] OK, so you are putting your back to the wall, waiting for him to make a move. [715.3s] Yes. [716.5s] Got it. [717.1s] Yes. [717.2s] We cut back to the front. [718.6s] I don't get to ready in action. [719.8s] You can absolutely ready in action. [721.3s] What do you want your action to be? [723.7s] I'm going to hit him with my fright. [727.0s] I'm going to slash at him with my frightful sort of reflection. [729.4s] I'm going to cut that motherfucker as he comes in. [731.7s] Cut a bitch. [732.5s] Yep, got it. [733.7s] OK, that's what I wanted to do. [735.4s] Cut back to the front. [736.4s] You've disengaged what looks to be like a pipe bomb [740.4s] that is set up at the side of this staircase [744.2s] that looked like it would have been triggered by this. [746.0s] So you've gently cut the wire and are able to proceed to the door. [753.1s] And Terry goes up and knocks on the door and stands and waits. [757.0s] Terry, I think just maybe he's not going to answer the door. [766.6s] Oh. [768.5s] You know what with throwing the confetti bomb at us. [772.2s] Right, right, right, right, right, right. [773.2s] Yeah, yeah, OK. [774.1s] Yeah, sure. [774.7s] Well, should we kick in the door or should we? [778.5s] Well, maybe we take a close hard look at that door [782.6s] and see if we see any more wires kicking around. [785.3s] Let's really explore the space of the door. [788.6s] Terry moves his face into the door and he's looking at the door. [793.0s] It's looking like a door. [796.1s] Does everybody else roll? [797.4s] Like investigating what's your face. [800.3s] Nineteen again. [801.6s] You don't see anything visible from the outside. [806.8s] I'm going to open the door. [808.1s] Whoa, whoa, I was looking at that part. [809.8s] OK. [810.8s] Oh, oh, sorry. [811.9s] No, that's OK. [813.0s] The door swings open and in. [817.3s] Loud creak echoes down the hallway before you. [820.6s] And you see the insides very much like the outsides. [824.2s] All tossed around, furniture overturned. [826.6s] Looks like there have been explosions [828.6s] that have been set off in various parts of this house. [831.3s] There is a welcome mat that looks to be in not pristine condition. [837.1s] It looks used, but it doesn't look like the rest of the house. [840.8s] It's very embellished writing on it. [843.8s] Welcome with a wand and a sparkler down in one of the corners. [849.4s] I mean, hey, Glenn, does this welcome mat and look a little suspicious to you? [854.7s] Yeah, it just seems out of place. [856.1s] Really doesn't fit the decor. [857.5s] Kind of reminds me of the sign, I think. [861.2s] It seems more like Murlock's kind of brand. [864.2s] I mean, I don't know him or boots, but is this... [867.4s] Terry, you'll know the sign better at Murlock's. [869.6s] Is this the same? [870.3s] Kind of looks familiar now that you say it, [873.2s] with the little kind of thing coming out of the end. [876.1s] Yeah, that's the part. [879.8s] Well, yeah, maybe he stole it. [883.0s] If he was the one writing the letters and had such a shot against him, [887.4s] maybe he stole his mat and now we got him. [890.4s] I mean, maybe that's the extent of his crimes, but... [894.2s] Could be. [895.5s] Maybe he just has great taste in doormats. [898.0s] I think we should just... [899.1s] Yeah, yeah. [899.8s] Boots? [902.2s] Boots? [902.9s] Boots, we're coming in. [904.3s] You hear quick footsteps upstairs. [907.8s] My name's Glam, here to save the world. [911.0s] Not here exactly to save the world, just like on the planet to save the world, [914.6s] but you know, you know what I mean. [915.9s] Like, you know about destiny. [917.2s] Anyway, Boots, do you want to come? [919.1s] We just want to talk to you about something. [921.2s] Have you entered or are you still doing this from the doorway? [923.4s] I think I enter, but I step over the mat because it seems out of place, [931.7s] so I'm going to not touch it. [933.3s] Okay. [933.6s] Yeah, you step over the mat. [935.2s] Moot, are you following or are you staying outside for now? [938.2s] I'll follow. [938.7s] Okay. [939.3s] Glam and Moot step in. [940.7s] Terry's following behind. [942.0s] He tells a dog to wait. [945.0s] Marky Bark, I can't remember for the life of me what we named that dog. [949.7s] He tells him to wait outside [952.1s] because I forgot that that dog turns into a giant monster. [955.1s] So maybe we'll just leave him outside for now. [957.8s] Maybe we bring him inside. [959.4s] Maybe. [960.2s] You two step in and as you step in, you step over the mat. [964.2s] You hear more scuffling upstairs. [965.9s] No response, but also you look into the room immediately to the left [970.1s] and there's a fireplace and you hear like this metallic bounce. [981.4s] It's coming down the fireplace until you see this, [987.0s] what looks like a wooden oblonged shape, [994.2s] roll out of the fireplace and towards you. [1000.7s] Doesn't have any like sparklers or anything like that. [1003.6s] Just looks like a carved or whittled wooden object. [1010.6s] Now rolling towards you. [1012.9s] I'm going to cast my crab claw mage hand and have it like [1018.2s] pick the object up and toss it back towards the fireplace. [1021.8s] All in one motion. [1023.3s] Your crab claw appears, quickly picks it up and throws it [1028.1s] and you roll on your wild magic surge table. [1031.5s] It was a 17. [1032.7s] And throw it back in and you hear it land [1036.5s] and it splinters and shoots out into the fireplace [1043.3s] and some out into the room. [1044.8s] So yeah, there would be a degree of difficulty towards you. [1048.3s] So let's roll a dexterity saving throw from moot and glim. [1051.0s] 18. [1052.2s] 14. [1053.0s] Both of you managed to kind of skirt to the side [1055.5s] and these wooden splinters shoot out into the walls that you see. [1060.6s] And then you hear a voice call down like echo down. [1063.5s] You hear it in the house, but it echoes down through the fireplace. [1066.6s] Did that one get you? [1068.6s] Nope, boots still here. [1070.2s] Ah, okay. [1071.2s] Next one will get you. [1072.6s] I mean, we just we just want to talk. [1074.6s] You could just come down. [1075.7s] Maybe this is all nothing. [1077.3s] Also, cool doormat. [1078.4s] Where'd you get the doormat? [1082.7s] We cut out to Sully. [1084.0s] You hear all of this. [1085.9s] I've been playing the animal game by myself [1087.5s] where you go through the alphabet [1089.0s] and you try to think of an animal for every letter. [1091.4s] Sure. [1091.8s] So right now I'm at J. [1095.8s] Giraffe. [1097.6s] The explosion goes off. [1098.9s] Go. [1099.6s] Oh my God. [1101.1s] I don't rush up the stairs. [1103.8s] I slowly sneak up the stairs checking for traps [1109.2s] and entering through the back door. [1111.1s] You open the back door and moot and glim, [1114.1s] you are calling out maybe this isn't a thing [1117.3s] and then you hear the door open at the back [1120.2s] and you see Sully poke his head through. [1122.4s] Sully takes his finger and puts it in front of his lips [1125.1s] and makes the shh. [1128.4s] So boots, we know you're upstairs [1130.6s] and I point at Sully like. [1132.9s] That's what you would like to think. [1134.1s] Well, we could we could hear you up there [1135.8s] with your tiny little footsteps [1137.8s] and plus you threw something down the fireplace chimney. [1141.4s] So gravity works differently in these parts. [1146.1s] Okay. [1146.6s] Now, is that like a regional thing [1148.0s] or specific to this location? [1150.7s] You hear audibly hear pages flipping in a book. [1154.6s] As moots got him talking, [1156.2s] I'm inching my way towards the dumbwaiter. [1160.7s] Sure. [1161.3s] Yeah. [1162.1s] That is in the kitchen. [1164.1s] Dumbwaiters in a rickety building [1165.5s] are always a great choice. [1167.8s] Sully certainly thinks so. [1169.0s] He's the only one who could get in there. [1170.4s] Yep. [1170.8s] Well, it looks and then there's a big pause. [1175.2s] Just stops mid sentence. [1177.1s] Sorry. [1178.6s] What does it look like? [1181.0s] So it's like an upside down gravity house [1183.4s] that you live in. [1185.0s] Watch out for this one. [1186.6s] Then you hear a huge stump [1188.6s] as a chandelier falls through a hole in the ceiling. [1194.2s] Make a dexterity saving throw. [1195.8s] Not the chandelier here. [1201.3s] 18 again. [1202.5s] This shack is very fancy. [1203.8s] It has a dumbwaiter. [1205.0s] It has a chandelier. [1206.4s] It's got it going on 16 for me, Russ. [1208.6s] Okay. [1209.1s] Both of you dodge out of the way [1210.6s] and as the chandelier hits, [1212.0s] there's this plume of smoke [1214.7s] and it changes color as it begins to roil up [1219.9s] and out of this chandelier [1221.1s] where clearly there was a device hidden within [1225.6s] and it obscures sight within this room [1229.7s] and the adjacent rooms making it hard to see. [1234.3s] Sully, you climb into the dumbwaiter. [1236.1s] Yeah, I do. [1236.6s] As the chandelier falls, you close the door. [1239.7s] Smoke starts coming into it. [1242.5s] There is a rope that you could begin to pull on. [1246.4s] Yep. [1246.9s] I want to begin pulling on that. [1248.3s] Okay. [1248.8s] You begin pulling on it. [1250.1s] But I'm trying to go like not in jerky motions. [1253.2s] I'm trying to go like. [1254.4s] Smooth. [1255.6s] Okay. [1256.1s] Roll me a d20. [1257.9s] Roll me a d20. [1263.4s] Wait, but you didn't say what for. [1266.2s] No, I just said roll me a d20. [1269.5s] Maybe low's good. [1270.6s] Maybe low's good, too? [1272.7s] God, the two's. [1273.8s] I don't know. [1274.5s] Okay. [1274.8s] You're in jail, Dice. [1276.7s] Smooth as butter. [1278.7s] It's going. [1280.7s] You get what you based on spatial reasoning, [1284.2s] which Sully's very good at, obviously. [1286.4s] I'm going to get out of the wrong floor, you guys. [1289.7s] No, you get almost up to what you believe is to be the second floor, [1294.2s] and you're kind of holding it there with one hand, [1296.8s] and you hear the rope begin to splinter and fray and snap. [1303.8s] Oh, shit. [1304.7s] Who's in there? [1306.1s] And you fall back down to the ground. [1309.0s] No one. [1310.2s] You're going to take three bludgeoning damage [1312.2s] as the dumb waiter collapses around you. [1314.2s] God damn it. [1315.4s] Moot and Glim, you hear like this loud. [1317.4s] No one. [1318.2s] And then and debris spitting back out into the main floor where you are. [1325.1s] I exit it, and they see me like stagger out of it, [1328.8s] totally covered in dust and cobwebs. [1332.2s] That wasn't the move. [1334.3s] Oh, I thought maybe you got him. [1336.4s] Did you not get him? [1337.6s] Yeah, I, oh, I didn't get him. [1341.4s] Oh, hey, Boots. [1344.1s] Aren't you guys gone yet? [1346.5s] No, just come downstairs. [1348.0s] We just want to talk to you. [1355.6s] I can try and persuade him. [1357.1s] Please do. [1357.8s] Oh, that was a really bad roll. [1359.1s] I have such a good plus. [1360.6s] Doesn't matter, though. [1361.4s] That's a seven. [1363.2s] Come on, please, Boots. [1365.1s] Come on, please. [1367.0s] What's your favorite explosion? [1370.2s] Flavor. [1372.4s] Good answer. [1374.4s] Ah, I was going to say like Bahamut's love in my heart. [1378.7s] Is that a big one? [1380.7s] Oh, it's the biggest. [1384.4s] Like what do you add into it? [1386.4s] Like a lot of love and loyalty and strength and justice. [1393.3s] You hear as Glim is talking, you hear, I mean, both of you hear. [1397.6s] There's no reason that both of you wouldn't hear, but footsteps slowly. [1401.9s] You can tell he's trying to be quiet, moving towards this hole in the floor, [1407.0s] or floor for him, ceiling for you, where the chandelier fell through. [1412.9s] And as Glim is kind of describing how big Bahamut's love is, [1418.0s] you see just the silhouette through the haze and fog and smoke [1423.7s] that has been created of like a figure. [1426.7s] And he's got one of those. [1428.6s] He's got one of the first bombs that you saw with the whiz popper on it. [1434.8s] And it looks like he's going to throw it down. [1436.8s] So I've got a visual on him. [1438.8s] You've got a visual on the top of his head and his hand holding a device. [1444.2s] OK, I'm going to cast Mind Spike on him. [1449.4s] All right. [1450.6s] We're getting serious now. [1452.1s] That's right. [1453.0s] Remind me what Mind Spike does and what I have to do to not be affected by it. [1459.0s] I can reach in the mind of one creature I can see within range. [1462.2s] The target must make a wisdom saving throw [1464.2s] or take some damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one. [1468.7s] On a failed save, you always know the target's location until the spell ends, [1472.7s] but only while the two of you are on the same plane of existence. [1476.8s] While you have this knowledge, the target can't become hidden from you. [1479.8s] And if it's invisible, it gains no benefit from that condition against you. [1484.0s] OK. [1485.1s] So you must make a wisdom saving throw. [1489.2s] Six wins, right? [1491.0s] Six is not even halfway there. [1493.8s] I was so close. [1495.0s] So close, everybody. [1498.6s] It does not happen for him to avoid. [1501.6s] That was a weird way to say that. [1503.8s] It works for you. [1505.4s] Perfect. [1506.1s] All right. [1506.9s] So you're going to take 16 psychic damage. [1510.0s] Oh, mind. [1513.0s] Moot's not fucking around anymore. [1514.9s] No. [1515.7s] Well, that glitter bomb really pissed me off. [1517.7s] Yeah, it was a real asshole kind of weapon. [1520.3s] Yeah. [1520.9s] OK. [1521.4s] So, yeah, Glim, you're describing the love of Bahamut and Moot. [1527.3s] You see Boots and you cast Mind Spike. [1530.7s] And as you did, sorry, did you roll Wild Magic? [1533.8s] I did not. [1535.3s] Well, that was a crit fail. [1536.5s] You cast Mind Spike and you, Glim and Moot and Sully, everybody. [1541.8s] Sully, you're picking yourself up trying to get out of this dumb waiter. [1544.9s] Yeah, it's rough for me. [1549.4s] What's Terry doing? [1550.4s] He's kind of standing outside, just kind of blowing the smoke. [1553.2s] Being like, you guys good in there? [1554.9s] You guys got him out yet? [1557.0s] He's still outside? [1558.2s] And Moot, you cast Mind Spike and you see and know the position of Boots. [1565.0s] You can see him roiling on the ground, screaming at this damage that he's taking, [1569.8s] this pain that he's in. [1571.8s] And then you see his body and his face and all this smoke [1578.5s] twist into that image that you saw in the journal. [1585.0s] And it becomes clearer to you. [1588.7s] Not clear in that you know what it is, but clearer and more visual. [1593.4s] And it's like you are transported somewhere else. [1597.2s] Everywhere gets dark and these colors become more vivid as this shape begins to form around you. [1604.7s] And you hear this voice, but it's not in a language that you can comprehend. [1614.2s] Make a wisdom saving throw. [1616.6s] Let's see, 13. [1618.2s] You see this image and hear this voice for what seems like a second. [1628.7s] And you're violently brought back to the room [1633.4s] with Glimselly and Terry standing in front of you with a panicked look on their face, [1637.2s] like trying to shake you back to reality. [1641.0s] Moot, oh, are you okay? [1642.8s] Sammy, slap him. [1643.8s] Did you guys see that, what happened with the face? [1647.6s] We saw you do some magic to Boots and it was pretty rad, but- [1651.8s] I thought I broke you again. [1653.4s] Yeah, you just, where you been buddy? [1656.7s] I've been here. [1659.0s] I know, I mean like physically you were here, but you were like, you know- [1662.4s] Oh, you were definitely somewhere else. [1664.4s] Terry was going to slap you. [1665.9s] I was, I was getting ready. [1667.1s] I took off my gauntlet though. [1670.8s] I told him he didn't have to, but he's a gentleman. [1673.4s] I mean, you've been out for- [1674.6s] It's very kind of you that you were going to. [1676.8s] We got Boots, whatever you did with his, he says it hurts really bad. [1681.0s] Maybe we, you know, that was, I mean, good job, but we got him. [1685.9s] But yeah, you've been out for like the last, I don't know, 10 or 15 minutes, right? [1691.3s] Oh, geez. [1692.6s] Yeah, well, it was the weirdest thing. [1694.9s] Remember that picture in the journal that I showed you, Terry? [1699.7s] Oh yeah, it's in my dreams. [1702.5s] Well, we haven't been asleep since I showed you. [1705.5s] Well, it's just, it's going to haunt my dreams. [1707.7s] I just know it. [1708.5s] Oh, okay. [1709.0s] All right. [1709.3s] So just more of a preemptive. [1710.6s] You've seen it in your dreams. [1711.8s] Got it. [1713.2s] Yeah, it was weird because I cast the thing, the spell at Boots there. [1719.1s] And then it was like Boots transformed into that thing with the face from the picture. [1725.7s] I don't know. [1726.2s] It was really weird. [1727.3s] Are you, are you okay? [1729.8s] I feel fine. [1731.0s] Okay. [1732.2s] So are you saying Boots is actually a scary monster? [1734.7s] Uh, I don't know. [1737.4s] Maybe? [1737.8s] What kind of, what kind of monster? [1739.8s] I'm not a scary monster. [1741.0s] I know my rights. [1741.8s] He came into my mind. [1742.7s] That's enough, Boots. [1743.9s] Should you shackle him or something? [1745.7s] He's not moving very fast. [1747.3s] You have to move fast to throw a bomb, just saying. [1749.9s] Terry walks over and shackles Boots. [1752.2s] So Boots, did you mess up Murloc's alchemy shop or? [1757.8s] Yeah, I messed that, that, that old man's shop up. [1761.4s] Why'd you do that? [1762.5s] Well, I wanted his, I wanted his recipes for all his big explosions. [1767.5s] You know how many noises and booms and bangs and whiz pops I hear coming from there? [1771.9s] So you murdered him. [1773.2s] Yeah, did you, did you mean to kill him? [1774.9s] Murdered him? [1776.2s] No! [1777.4s] I used one of his recipes. [1780.2s] Uh. [1780.7s] And he's not there anymore. [1782.1s] And we found a crispy fried robe. [1783.8s] Crispy fried robe? [1785.2s] Wow, that's pretty funny. [1785.9s] And some pink glitter. [1787.0s] Um, oh, well, did you hang on to the pink glitter? [1793.4s] Yeah. [1794.6s] I, yes? [1797.1s] Okay. [1797.5s] I'm reticent to tell you because you like to make bombs and I don't want you to throw [1801.8s] a match at me or something, but. [1803.8s] Why would, I'm trying to help you here. [1806.7s] Are you? [1807.1s] I'm, I'm a friend. [1808.3s] What a fun turnaround from earlier. [1810.2s] I'm a, I'm a friend of the justice system. [1812.6s] Right, tell him, Terry. [1817.0s] No. [1817.7s] Most people on the watch list aren't, uh. [1819.8s] Yeah, more of a customer? [1821.8s] Maybe of the justice system than a friend? [1824.8s] Antagonist too, said justice system? [1827.5s] Someone who uses the justice system, uh, frequently, uh, is, if that's not a friend, [1834.9s] what could you, what else could you describe it as? [1836.6s] I didn't notice they give out frequent fly-a-miles for the justice system. [1839.8s] Do they have a punch card? [1841.2s] Yeah, is it like every seventh visit to the justice system is free? [1845.1s] What's happening here? [1846.2s] Terry, do we have a free visit to the justice system? [1849.0s] No, you get fined every time. [1851.1s] Okay, would somebody pass me my umbrella, please? [1853.5s] Absolutely not. [1855.8s] But maybe, maybe it's going to rain. [1858.9s] Now, well, I think you'll be, yeah, I'm not, no one's going to hand you anything. [1863.8s] So why did you kill Murlock? [1866.2s] I didn't kill Murlock. [1867.5s] I used one of his recipes. [1868.8s] He said it was safe. [1870.9s] Well, what was the intended effect? [1873.2s] What did you want to do with that recipe? [1876.0s] I mean, I wanted to kill him. [1877.7s] Okay, so. [1878.8s] But I didn't. [1880.6s] Okay, but. [1881.5s] He said it just, it makes a person into another substance. [1890.1s] And I wanted to test it out. [1891.5s] Another substance? [1892.4s] And I thought, well, he would be able to just flip poop, you know, just make himself come back. [1899.1s] Flip poop? [1899.9s] I think more of a glip glop. [1902.1s] Was there glip glop? [1903.0s] I thought you said it was pink dust. [1904.4s] Yeah, there was pink dust. [1905.5s] Is that, are you saying the pink dust is? [1909.0s] That could be Murlock. [1910.6s] What do you mean could be? [1912.5s] Well, he didn't give me the whole recipe. [1915.4s] Do you have the partial recipe? [1918.1s] Do you, did you get a book? [1919.8s] We saw some, the pitter patter of little feet all over the bookshelf. [1924.6s] Yeah, I did take a book. [1925.8s] It was The Biggest Bangiest Explosions Under the Sun by Senor Big Bang. [1933.4s] Interesting you left the 101 explosions you need to see before you die book. [1937.4s] That was right next to it. [1938.9s] I didn't see that one. [1940.6s] Did you bring it with you? [1941.9s] No, it's back at Murlock's shop. [1945.0s] I mean, it's in custody. [1947.1s] Yes, which is an active crime scene. [1949.0s] It's in the murder scene. [1952.0s] Also, you're not going to go around free. [1954.0s] It just exploded a bunch of things and potentially even a guy. [1958.2s] So, can you turn him back if this pink powder is really him? [1964.6s] I'm not a wizard like Murlock. [1966.2s] That pink powder you're carrying around is our good friend Murlock. [1970.0s] I mean, he's probably, that's probably naked pink powder you're carrying around. [1973.4s] Just putting that out there. [1975.2s] If you left the charred up robe on the ground. [1979.4s] No. [1980.2s] So wait, your solution was to put the pink powder in the charred up road [1983.7s] and then bring that? [1984.8s] Well, if you didn't want naked pink powder. [1986.6s] Hey, there's nothing wrong about being naked, what? [1988.7s] That's right. [1989.2s] No, it's fine. [1989.8s] Are you a never nude? [1992.0s] You know what, even if you are, it's none of my business. [1993.8s] I'm just saying. [1994.6s] There are dozens of them. [1996.6s] We're, it's an affliction. [1998.2s] Okay? [1999.0s] Of course. [2001.0s] I'm, I'm not, I'm not anyway. [2003.2s] So look, okay, okay. [2004.5s] You got me. [2005.3s] How do we get him back? [2006.9s] He probably has a book. [2008.7s] Oh my God. [2016.6s] I said burn. [2018.7s] It's cold in here. [2020.5s] There must be some middle in the atmosphere. [2023.4s] I mean, delightful. [2026.5s] That's good. [2027.6s] I love it. [2028.5s] No, no, nobody ever jumps in with me. [2031.3s] So why would we jump in with you? [2033.0s] Oh, no, no. [2033.6s] Amy knows how it feels. [2034.7s] Mine was better. [2036.8s] Cause yours was better. [2039.8s] Ouch. [2040.3s] Jesus. [2040.9s] You have no proof. [2041.7s] I would say Amy's was more, like if I had jumped in, in the third word, [2046.1s] I would have known where it was going. [2047.6s] Sometimes with Russ. [2048.7s] Right. [2049.5s] You're not quite sure where it's going. [2051.2s] You know what? [2051.6s] That's what I like. [2052.2s] The element of surprise. [2053.3s] The genre might change part way through. [2055.4s] You just don't know. [2056.2s] It's always new and exciting. [2058.5s] It's jazz, baby. [2059.5s] It's all about the notes you don't play. [2061.7s] That's what you do in here. [2063.7s] Yeah. [2065.0s] Always. [2065.7s] Jazz in here in the middle. [2067.1s] Yep. [2067.5s] Welcome to the middle, everybody. [2070.4s] We have a full story for you over on our Patreon. [2074.1s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2076.0s] And that story explains how. [2081.0s] Slow Russ talks. [2082.1s] Flamikins. [2085.2s] Broke Grancis out of the abyss. [2088.2s] Yeah. [2088.3s] So if you're, if you're out there listening to our, you know, [2091.1s] regular shenanigans and you're wondering. [2093.4s] How'd that guy get back there? [2095.4s] And where the fuck do Flamikins come from? [2097.4s] Why is Grancis here? [2098.6s] And you're a bit confused. [2099.5s] Head on over to Patreon. [2101.2s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2103.3s] It's a two part exclusive adventure just for our patrons. [2106.6s] And both parts are out now. [2107.7s] That's right. [2109.0s] You can hear them. [2110.7s] Well, now that I say this out loud, [2113.2s] it's probably not till Friday that you can hear them. [2115.0s] But if you sign up now, [2116.7s] you'll have time to listen to the first episode. [2119.9s] For when it comes to preparation. [2122.2s] You'll be the first one. [2123.8s] Yeah, I know. [2124.4s] I really set us up that they were both out right now. [2127.2s] And then. [2127.9s] That is the one talking point. [2129.3s] It was. [2130.4s] And my brain was like, no, you dumb dumb. [2133.4s] That's not out till Friday when you actually finish it. [2136.5s] Oh, that's okay. [2137.8s] We kind of scrambled Russ's brain when we played that game [2140.6s] because Tom, Carla and I were the DMs. [2144.2s] So it was three against one and Russ had to talk to himself a lot. [2147.6s] A lot. [2149.3s] It was three against two. [2150.6s] Okay, right. [2151.7s] So there's a demon pineapple. [2153.4s] So it's all coming together. [2155.9s] That's right. [2156.9s] Three DMs, Russ playing two characters and a demon pineapple. [2161.0s] Yep. [2161.8s] Where do they stick that pineapple? [2163.4s] We'll find out if you go to Patreon and listen to part one. [2166.5s] I think Grancis might after that episode have a tattoo somewhere on his body [2171.6s] that just says be like the pineapple. [2174.1s] Like a tramp stamp? [2175.3s] Yeah, like be sweet on the inside and wear a crown. [2178.5s] Like he's got that on his body somewhere. [2181.3s] That and live, laugh, love. [2182.9s] Yeah, oh, definitely. [2184.4s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2186.5s] We'd love to have you over there. [2188.0s] And now. [2189.1s] Spirit fingers. [2193.0s] I mean, you could check the book that I said earlier. [2197.1s] The biggest, bangiest booms. [2199.3s] Bangiest booms. [2200.7s] Okay, and that's just upstairs? [2202.7s] Right in your big bang. [2204.0s] Yep. [2204.8s] Yeah, it's upstairs. [2207.0s] Yeah, you all go upstairs and grab it and I'll wait down here for you. [2210.5s] No, I think maybe just like one or two of us should go upstairs and everybody else [2214.1s] stay down here with you. [2215.4s] And definitely keep you away from the umbrella because that's so suspicious. [2220.6s] I think that I'm going to go upstairs. [2223.2s] And like investigate the stairs while we go there. [2226.9s] Look, I've just I got it tapped into the the barometric pressure in this area [2232.2s] and I know when it's going to rain. [2234.9s] What the fuck does that mean? [2236.3s] Two of you go upstairs. [2237.4s] Who goes upstairs? [2238.2s] I want to because I feel like I should have been up there anyway [2241.3s] with the whole dumbwaiter disaster. [2243.0s] Okay, I'll go upstairs as well. [2244.8s] I got something to prove, barely. [2247.0s] Moot and Sully, you go upstairs. [2248.0s] Roll investigation as you go. [2249.5s] I'm going to roll like different. [2250.8s] Oh, no, no, no. [2251.5s] You've already been upstairs. [2252.3s] That doesn't make sense. [2253.3s] I haven't been upstairs. [2254.6s] Well, somebody went upstairs to get somebody would have gone upstairs. [2260.2s] Events while Moot was out occurred. [2263.4s] You go back upstairs. [2264.3s] Yeah, there is a book kind of tossed into the corner there, [2267.9s] which you grab and it is the biggest bangiest [2270.9s] big bangs of senior senior big bang that book. [2275.9s] And you grab it and you come back downstairs and he's [2279.3s] Terry and Glim are cornering him to keep him away from the umbrella. [2285.0s] I was picturing Glim just sitting on him. [2287.1s] Perfect. Love it. [2288.5s] Glim is sitting on him and Terry's holding the umbrella, [2292.5s] kind of just looking at it. [2294.2s] What do you do to the umbrella? [2295.6s] Like does it explode? [2298.0s] Terry, I feel like it's kind of it's just it's dangerous. [2302.0s] We know it's dangerous. [2303.3s] I don't know why you have to fool around with it. [2305.7s] No, you're probably right. [2307.3s] We should probably leave it here. [2309.0s] Take it into custody. [2311.4s] Yeah, I think maybe bring it with us very carefully. [2314.7s] Yeah, that's I don't I don't think we should leave it [2317.4s] in case anyone else comes here to this. [2319.5s] Yeah, we should take it with us because it's going to rain. [2322.4s] Is there anything else we find upstairs? [2323.8s] I want to like I want to look around his place. [2326.6s] He messed up the shop. [2328.6s] I'm going to well, I'm not going to totally like turn over his place, [2331.6s] but you know, yeah, you know, while you're upstairs, [2334.2s] you do see like I got sticky fingers crumpled up a note pad [2339.8s] like big pieces of paper and notepad. [2342.4s] Same ones that I saw before thick black big pencil [2347.1s] that looked like there's some with writing on them [2350.6s] that say some say like you're the worst. [2353.1s] Murlock, you think these are like ones that were like [2356.7s] just they didn't make the cut didn't make the cut first. [2360.9s] I'm rubber your glue. [2362.5s] He's been going to Bard School and he hasn't quite [2365.9s] got the vicious mockery down yet. [2368.3s] Yeah, you see a lot of those again, confirming your suspicions. [2372.6s] You do see more of the devices that have been flying at you [2376.1s] and and exploding some of the like the wooden like the oblong wooden ones [2380.2s] and the confetti bombs as well as some other of the [2385.1s] more pipe bomb ones that were disabled. [2388.1s] May like a few confetti bombs. [2391.3s] All right, you want to take some confetti bomb to maybe some pipe bombs too. [2395.2s] How many do you take? [2396.7s] I'll take two of each to do they look. [2400.1s] Oh, hold on. [2400.5s] Do they look stable? [2402.2s] The confetti bombs look pretty stable. [2406.0s] The pipe bombs look pretty ramshackle. [2409.0s] I'm going to just take the confetti bombs [2411.8s] because I don't want to lose. [2413.4s] I don't know my left cheek holding it in my in my satchel. [2419.9s] Okay, a terrible way to lose your ass. [2424.1s] Do you do that in secret or do you just take them? [2426.5s] I just take them. [2427.9s] You see Sully take two confetti bombs [2430.3s] and that's all you really find upstairs. [2432.4s] A small cot and that's that's about it though. [2435.7s] You head back downstairs glimpsed sitting on [2439.5s] and they're sorting glimpsed sitting on boots and they're sorting everything out. [2444.2s] Nothing else that you really find in this place [2447.2s] at least that stands out. [2450.5s] He's still really drawn to the umbrellas. [2452.7s] Well, you guys look over the book, I guess, [2456.8s] and see if there's something in there and I want to take them back. [2460.3s] Seems like he'd probably try and use this umbrella to do something. [2463.0s] So I'll probably go, you know, book them. [2465.4s] Or maybe take the umbrella in for evidence. [2467.8s] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [2469.3s] Here's some notes and I had gathered up some of the notes to show as evidence that [2475.3s] I mean, he totally but he could change the story at any time. [2478.3s] You can say I'm guilty and then be like, oh, never mind. [2480.2s] He was under duress. [2481.4s] So I brought the I brought the balled up notes with me and being like, [2488.8s] check the handwriting. [2490.3s] I'm like 100,000% sure it's him. [2493.3s] Terry grabs the notes and pulls out one of the other notes that he took from the [2497.7s] from the crime scene and compares them. [2499.6s] It's well, the handwriting does appear to match up. [2504.6s] Yeah, it does. [2505.5s] You know, cut ahead, going back to the crime scene and you're flipping through [2512.3s] the biggest bangiest book. [2514.4s] And you do come across one that claims to turn it's turn anybody or anything [2523.6s] into a powder doesn't specify a color, but it does specify a powder. [2529.9s] It says that to reverse it, it gives you a recipe and you go downstairs and you [2537.5s] manage to find all of the ingredients in order to mix it, though someone's [2543.4s] going to need to roll Arcana in order to properly mix the remedy to this. [2552.8s] I only have plus one. [2555.0s] This is Moot's time to shine. [2556.6s] I think I have. [2558.1s] I have a no plus. [2559.4s] It's not that great. [2560.6s] And plus I've been rolling twos all night. [2562.6s] Don't let me do this with my plus three. [2565.5s] It's a 21. [2568.9s] All right. [2569.4s] Yes, sir. [2570.4s] Yeah. [2570.6s] Moot, you go down to the lab and clear yourself a space and set up. [2574.9s] You've managed to find enough stuff that isn't broken. [2577.2s] And would you say I was working in the lab late one night? [2581.6s] It is getting late. [2583.8s] And as you're doing that, everybody else upstairs or did you go down with Moot? [2587.3s] Where is everybody else? [2588.2s] Oh, I want to watch. [2589.4s] I'm down with Moot. [2590.3s] Yeah, I am so curious about Moot. [2592.2s] Seeing Moot do some things that aren't writing in a notebook is just... [2599.4s] I'm not going to tell you what's in this recipe. [2602.5s] Get Moot to describe what's going on here. [2605.4s] You can even just, you know, talk it through however you want to do it, Tom. [2610.2s] The recipe is pretty easy to follow. [2613.1s] There's a few steps that seem a little... [2616.2s] There's a pinch of this and then a dash of that and then these two at the same time. [2622.7s] But I think I'm doing... [2623.7s] How do you guys feel? [2624.5s] Do you think it's going okay? [2626.3s] Ew, what's that brown stuff? [2628.6s] I'm not really sure. [2630.0s] It says ground newt. [2636.6s] That purple stuff? [2637.7s] It's a Sunny D. [2639.0s] No, wait, that's not the purple stuff. [2641.9s] Lavender. [2643.4s] Lavender. [2643.8s] Oh, that I like. [2645.1s] That's stuff I like. [2646.2s] Yeah, you put that in my pillow, I'm out. [2648.3s] I think we're almost done here. [2650.4s] It's starting to bubble quite a bit. [2653.0s] Do you guys think that's normal? [2655.7s] I mean, maybe. [2657.0s] You should probably have the safety glasses on. [2658.9s] I know you were teasing me about asking you to wear them, [2662.2s] but it's probably a good idea. [2663.4s] It's like bubbling. [2664.1s] I think that's a good call. [2665.1s] I think I'm going to put those right on. [2668.2s] This is your world. [2670.2s] I'm taking notes. [2671.4s] Is this my world? [2672.8s] I don't think I've really done much of this before. [2675.8s] I do believe this is magic. [2677.7s] The solution begins to like bubble over like a science fair [2681.4s] thing with like foam and there's even some sparks [2686.2s] inexplicably that start coming up out of this solution. [2690.2s] Is that supposed to happen? [2692.9s] I don't know. [2693.7s] The recipe is not super clear on what's happening while you. [2697.3s] I'll just mix the last thing in and then we'll just see what happens. [2701.0s] Oh, yeah. [2702.9s] Do you guys have a bring me back from the dead? [2704.7s] I just want you to see what happens. [2706.6s] You add the last ingredient, which is? [2709.4s] We'll say it's golem dust. [2711.8s] You add the golem dust, just a pinch, just on top. [2715.4s] And as soon as you do it quickly, the bubbling and the sparks [2721.0s] and the bit of smoke that's coming up stop and it shoots back down into this beaker [2726.9s] and there's just this clear liquid pink in color. [2730.7s] So here's my question. [2733.6s] Do we pour this on to the pink glittery dust or do we put the dust into it? [2741.5s] Like, how does how does that part of it work? [2743.6s] What do you know? [2744.2s] Is it wet into dry or dry into what does it say in the ingredient? [2747.9s] This is just like a recipe, right? [2749.9s] Do we make a little well in the center and then mix it from there? [2754.5s] This is a terrible recipe is not super clear on how to execute it. [2759.7s] And Sully just picks up the powder and pours it into the liquid. [2764.6s] That happened right there. [2766.0s] I mean, stir it, I don't know. [2768.1s] Yeah, the powder into the liquid. [2769.7s] Yeah, that's what you said. [2770.7s] Yeah, I'll like swirl it around in the old beaker there. [2773.8s] Powder goes into the all of the powder or just like a little bit of the powder? [2778.3s] What's going on? [2778.7s] I put all of it in. [2781.3s] Okay. [2781.7s] There was too much deliberating. [2783.7s] Sully wanted action. [2785.8s] Sully grabs the bag off of Glim's hip and begins to pour this powder all over this solution. [2794.1s] And it begins to bubble and boil and you see a figure begin to take place, [2799.8s] but not as not like cleanly like, you know, somebody appearing like with magic. [2807.7s] There's mounds of flesh and bone and gristle. [2813.8s] You see an eyeball at one point as all of this is trying to pull itself back together [2819.3s] until this goes on for quite a while. [2821.9s] There's this scream that comes through at one point. [2826.2s] And it's the three of us. [2827.4s] And then you look at each other and it's you three screaming as this figure is coming to [2834.0s] back to life in front of your eyes. [2836.3s] And there's this older man who's hunched over on the ground. [2841.8s] Naked is the day he was born. [2843.4s] And he looks up and he's just kind of shielding himself like he was almost frozen in time. [2850.3s] And he looks up and he says, where did Boots go? [2856.0s] Jail. [2857.4s] Oh, that's where he's going to go. [2860.3s] Who are you? [2861.4s] The god's chosen three. [2867.1s] No. [2868.2s] That's that's. [2869.0s] No. [2869.5s] Join us on Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast to find out who the god's chosen three is. [2875.6s] Destiny's Children, I think, is the name that you've been gifted. [2879.0s] No. [2879.4s] Okay. [2880.6s] Is it? [2881.1s] Yeah. [2881.5s] I mean, that is what they've dubbed us on the Discord. [2888.1s] Dents dubbed you that. [2891.7s] I don't think they're ready for this jelly. [2894.1s] Wait, we came here and saved you. [2898.9s] Oh, thank you. [2901.2s] Are you okay? [2902.1s] I think I think so. [2903.5s] Oh, here you go. [2906.2s] Oh, yeah, of course. [2909.0s] Not that nudity disgust. [2910.7s] Oh, it makes me uncomfortable. [2912.1s] I can join you if you if you were. [2914.6s] No, it's a it's a modesty thing. [2916.1s] It's all right. [2916.6s] I'll just cover back up here. [2918.2s] Thank you. [2918.6s] Thank you very much. [2920.2s] It appears that Boots had his way and got a recipe book. [2927.4s] Did we get that back? [2929.4s] Yeah. [2929.7s] Yeah, I have it right over here. [2931.3s] Great. [2931.7s] Great. [2931.9s] You need to really like make it a little more clear as to what's going to happen [2937.0s] in the stages of the recipe. [2939.3s] If you make it too clear, then too many people know exactly what happens. [2943.2s] And you want to leave some confusion in the spell. [2946.5s] It looks like whoever put this spell together did a wonderful bang up job. [2950.2s] OK, yeah, but just for like examples like this, [2954.2s] where someone is saving your life with your spell book, [2958.1s] maybe you want to make it clear for them [2960.0s] so that they understand exactly what's happening. [2962.8s] I'll keep that in mind. [2963.8s] Most people normally don't come down here. [2965.2s] See, Boots was a random event, a random occurrence. [2967.7s] He wanted to to blow everything up. [2973.5s] We learned that about him. [2974.6s] I've been using him in the past tense. [2975.8s] You just said he went to jail, not that he himself has been blown up. [2979.4s] Correct? [2980.3s] Yes. [2981.3s] Yeah, that's right. [2982.7s] Yeah. [2983.1s] Great. [2983.5s] Perfect. [2983.9s] Yep. [2984.2s] No, that's good. [2984.8s] So I won't use him in the past tense anymore. [2986.2s] Boots wants to blow things up. [2988.6s] And of course, being the foremost alchemist in this area, [2992.5s] I have all of the books to do so. [2998.4s] Speaking of blowing up things, [3000.9s] your shop is not in great condition. [3003.7s] I see just based on my lab here, [3007.2s] I can only assume that the explosion that he used [3010.6s] that perhaps rendered me catatonic. [3015.2s] What state was I in? [3017.0s] Powder. [3018.2s] Yeah. [3018.7s] Powder? [3019.2s] Yeah. [3019.4s] Oh, wow. [3020.9s] How did it feel? [3021.8s] Just question. [3022.5s] To be powder? [3023.8s] Yeah. [3023.8s] It's kind of like a blanks. [3026.7s] He kind of goes silent. [3029.6s] It's grisly. [3030.8s] Grisly. [3032.2s] Kind of coarse. [3034.0s] Well, fair enough. [3034.8s] You were like a bunch of salt. [3036.8s] Yep. [3037.9s] Well, thank you. [3040.8s] Thank you for doing so. [3042.2s] If there's anything I can do for you. [3048.8s] Well, I mean, always happy to learn a little bit of magic. [3052.7s] He just stares at you for a moment. [3055.1s] Sure. [3055.4s] Why not? [3055.9s] Yeah, you saved my life. [3057.1s] I could teach you a little bit of magic. [3058.3s] Absolutely. [3058.7s] Why not? [3059.4s] Why don't you come back tomorrow? [3060.3s] I'll have this place all ship shape and we'll take a peruse through some books. [3067.7s] That sounds like a plan. [3068.7s] Also, one last question. [3070.4s] Please. [3071.2s] What's with the scary face dude in your notebook? [3075.0s] Beg your pardon? [3075.8s] The scary face dude in my notebook. [3077.6s] Yeah. [3078.3s] Yeah, there's a notebook here and I pull it out and I say, yeah, [3082.0s] it kind of starts to get a little frantic at parts and then there's [3087.7s] drawing of a scary faced man at the end of the book. [3091.8s] As you pull it out, like he goes glassy eyed, not in panic, just kind of like freezes on the [3097.7s] spot. [3098.1s] Glim and Sully is near the same look that Moot had for the 15 minutes that you were in [3105.6s] Boots place and he begins to what Moot didn't do but he begins to [3112.9s] to speak or vocalize and moot. [3117.5s] It's the same sounds that you began to hear. [3127.0s] We cut outside Murlock's workshop where it gently begins raining and off in the [3135.6s] distance there you can hear just the faintest [3141.9s] and a large plume of smoke goes up near the jail. [3146.4s] Terry opened up the umbrella, didn't he? [3148.2s] Yeah. [3148.5s] Oh, Terry. [3150.4s] Just couldn't help himself. [3195.6s] More as Sully, Carla Max dead as Glim, Tom Laird as Moot and Russ More as your [3200.5s] dungeon master. [3201.4s] Editing, production and sound design is by Russ More. [3272.9s] Would you say I was working in the lab late one night? [3276.8s] It is getting late. [3278.6s] Okay. [3279.4s] Yeah. [3280.9s] And as you're doing that, everybody else. [3283.0s] I punched the microphone. [3284.2s] I was so excited to see that. [3289.0s] You add the last ingredient, which is. [3291.2s] Need some fun name here. [3293.8s] It's going to be good. [3299.8s] But I mean, come on. [3300.8s] It's a callback. [3305.4s] Russ is always talking about the callback. [3307.3s] That's not it. [3308.9s] Did I do it wrong? [3309.7s] I wouldn't know.
